Self Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS): June Update

The Chancellor has announced that the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) will be extended.

Eligible self-employed individuals who continue to be adversely affected by the crisis will be able to claim the SEISS for the second and final time in August. This will be a taxable grant worth 70% of your average monthly trading profits for three months, which will be paid in one transaction and capped at a maximum of £6,570.

The eligibility for the second grant will be exactly the same as the first. On the basis that some people may have only been affected more recently by the pandemic, you will not need to have claimed the first grant in order to be able to receive the second.

Important: First SEISS grant claim must be done by 13 July

The first SEISS grant that opened on 13 May will close on 13 July.

Eligible self-employed individuals have up until 13 July to claim the first SEISS grant - a taxable grant of 80% of your average monthly trading profits. This will be paid out in a single instalment covering 3 months of profits, capped at £7,500.

We are expecting to receive more information about the second SEISS grant by 12 June.
